FxShare is shareware for online, secure audio and video media. It was developed for the project RIAM and backed by the CNC.
At the onset, a first in-house application had allowed Trimaran to work at a distance on the Season 2 of the series Mayday in 2004-2005, in collaboration with Canadian and British producers as well as the different directors for the needs of 6 episodes without ever having organized a meeting at one location or the other. Based on this work, Trimaran elaborated on the FxShare application for an ergonomic presentation relying on the concept of a platform that automatically converts the audio and video media into Flash. This allows viewing without plug-in or specific player.
Different functionalities facilitate the share feature, as well as viewing and verification of media in development during the different phases of the project, whether 3D, VFX or multimedia productions.
It is also possible to have several FxShare projects and user profiles (administrators, supervisors, contributors & visitors) with different access privileges depending on the shared media and documents.
FxShare is a platform that facilitates sharing audio and video media of different formats (AVI QuickTime, compressed or non-compressed…) and to then convert them automatically into an accessible format (.FLV) for all browsers. The result is immediate listening or watching of the media online, no codes need to be downloaded, and it works on both PC and Mac systems.
Trimaran uses FxShare regularly and has also enriched this shareware as needed. It is truly a product adapted to online collaboration.
